The MVA Forward program welcomes the addition of Associação de Jornalismo Digital (Ajor) to the list of partners working together to develop the MVA and keep it a safe place for independent media.
Ajor exists to boost organizations that lead the renewal of journalism in Brazil and was born from the union of a group of organizations that had been promoting together, since 2017, the 3i Festival of Inspiring, Innovative and Independent Journalism.
Ajor will bring unique perspectives to the MVA platform and network; advising on media support initiatives, supporting their partners to make use of the MVA platform. This will further strengthen independent media initiatives in Brazil – and beyond and the anonymized data submitted by Brazilian outlets to the MVA platform will contribute to a more diverse global dataset which will further benefit all MVA platform users.
In addition to this, Ajor will support the vetting of organizations joining the MVA platform, as per the MVA Trust Framework, in order to keep the platform a safe space for independent media. This vetting process is complemented by the MVA’s rigorous digital safety processes, supported by technology partner Microsoft, ensuring that organizations’ data is available only to them and is kept confidential.
